Modify a configuration

To modify a configuration or feature flag in the RelFast portal, follow the step-by-step instructions below. Please ensure that you have the necessary "Update Configuration" permissions, which are environment-specific, to perform this operation.

Instructions:

  1. Open your web browser and go to the portal: https://relfast.convolute.ai

  2. Log in to the portal using your credentials to access your account.

  3. After logging in, find and click on the "Configurations/Flags" tab in the left navigation bar. This will take you to the section where you can manage configurations and feature flags.

  4. Select the appropriate Project, Environment, and Application from the dropdown menus. If defaults are set, they will be pre-populated for convenience.

  5. Existing configurations and feature flags will be displayed on this page.

  6. To modify a configuration or feature flag, click on the name of the configuration or feature flag that you want to edit. This will take you to the edit mode for that item.

  7. Under the "Manage" tab, you can modify the name and description of the configuration or feature flag as needed.

  8. If required, you can also convert the configuration or feature flag to a secure mode by using the "Is Secured" switch. This will store the alternatives at rest in an encrypted vault for added security.

  9. After making the necessary changes, click on the "Save" button to apply the modifications.

  10. For feature flags, the process of modification is similar to that of configurations.

  11. Ensure that the name field does not exceed 30 characters and the description field does not exceed 150 characters.

  12. The "Add" button performs client and server-side validations. Any violation in the form will be highlighted in the portal, prompting user action to correct the input.

  13. Remember not to enter any confidential text, PCI (Payment Card Industry) or PII (Personally Identifiable Information) data in the name and description fields of the form. All data is stored in plain text format in the database. The "Is Secured" switch, if turned on, is applicable only for alternative values, not the name or description.

By following these instructions, you can easily modify configurations and feature flags in the RelFast portal, ensuring that you have up-to-date settings and options for different environments, while also maintaining data security and compliance with best practices.
